The Wodonga Athletics Club has designed four programs that provide plenty of variety each week and ensure athletes have the opportunity to undertake each event at least once every four weeks. In the event of cancellations due to bad weather, programs will not be changed for future weeks.
To assist with the smooth running of the program, athletes are asked to arrive approximately fifteen minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the program in order to nominate for the events they wish to compete in.
It is greatly appreciated that athletes assist officials when not competing. Even if not skilled in an event, raking a pit, holding a tape measure or stop watch helps to keep the program on time and spreads the work load so everyone has the opportunity to compete in their favourite events. The winter program events conducted each day will remain the same, but may be conducted in different order to provide more variety. There is the option of scheduling a different jump or throw on some Sundays. This will be advised prior to the day. On 2 occasions we will be using the Pentathlon format. This is an ideal opportunity for athletes to gain exposure to multi-events in the friendly club environment.
